Acid Absorbing and Neutralizing Pillow

Weldex Acid Absorbing and Neutralizing Pillows are UL recognized, flame retardant and absorb and neutralize battery electrolyte.

SPECIFICATIONS:

• NFPA 101 Class 1 fire rated
• Neutralization – 7 plus ounces of sulfuric acid with a Specific Gravity of 1.21 to 1.26 per pound
• Absorption – 10 plus ounces of sulfuric acid per pound
• 1/16 thick outer shell
• Will indicate contact with acid by changing from bright yellow to red

The 1/16 thick outer shell material is tear and puncture resistant. The safety yellow color makes the containment highly visible, and gives early alert to acid spill by changing color. Pillows come in two sizes: 12 x 12 inch (standard) and 6 x 24 inch (sock). The standard pillow contains approximately 1.75 pounds of neutralizer. The sock pillow contains approximately .75 to 1 pound of neutralizer. Sock pillow is designed to allow for separation into two 6 x 12 inch sections for those hard to fill areas.

REPLACEMENT:

Pillows should be replaced when acid detection is indicated by the color change component. Pillows can absorb moisture from the environment over time. If this happens, they should be replaced. Any pillow that has become hard or solid should be replaced.
